About the Captain's: Captain Travis holds a six-pack charter license, is CPR/First Aid certified, and is a TWIC cardholder. His fishing journey began in Washington State, where he grew up fishing local waters and the Pacific Ocean with his parents. He moved to Oregon in 1991 and began fishing the Rogue River before eventually settling in the scenic Umpqua Valley with his wife and three children. It wasn’t long before he started targeting salmon, steelhead, and bass in the Umpqua River. He also developed a passion for deep-sea fishing off the Oregon Coast, refining his skills through dedication, hands-on experience, and mentorship from seasoned experts. Today, Coastal charter fishing with Captain Travis is known for offering anglers an exceptional experience on Oregon’s waters, combining expertise, safety, and a true love for the sport. His lifelong love for fishing was inspired by his late mother, Granny Jean, an avid angler who instilled her passion in him at a young age. Captain Tom A graduate from South Umpqua High School in Myrtle Creek, OR. Tom joined the United States Marine Corps in 2007 where he served six years as a Helicopter Mechanic. In 2013 he was medically retired after an 11 month battle with bone cancer. He has spent most of his life fishing from the beginning in the reservoirs of Colorado, to the Pacific Ocean. His true passion is chasing Anadromous fish in the Pacific northwest.
